The Protest

The Protest is an emotionally charged play about a police involved shooting and how it impacts the community.  It tells the story of a group of people coming together to plan a march to protest yet another police killing. Many of the people who are planning the march has lost someone they loved to gun violence.  Their experiences with the police are different and they don’t feel connected to one another.  When the meeting starts, they find out they have a lot in common and they are connected in the worst way.  Each one of them are looking to find peace within themselves and their community as a whole.  But they can’t change until they accept their own truth, fears, and failings.  They realize before they can heal as a community, they must first identify their spiritual and emotional wounds.
