Vanessa Morgan

Vanessa Morgan is an author, playwright, songwriter, and poet.  She published her first book I Go Hard in 2010.  The book is based on actual events and it tells the story of her family's journey after her son was shot in 2009. 

Since 2010, Vanessa has written two more books, DazeD and Mother-Sister/Daughter-Friend.  In 2014, she wrote and produced her first play Finding My Happiness which was a major success.  In 2015, Vanessa wrote and produced her second play Secrets We Keep which audiences loved.  Currently, she is working on her third and most difficult play The Protest which tells the story of a police involved shooting and how members of the community are impacted by the shooting. 

Future projects include:  Black Woman Monologues (2018) and stage play Broken (2019) so stay tuned.  Vanessa found her passion for writing through a very painful situation.  She believes her writing helped her heal and she also believes it can help others.
